Seid Jamal - سيد جمال

The Nubian Artist Seid Jamal was born in the village Adindan in Old Nubia, in 1930. Since his early childhood he loved singing the traditional Nubian songs about the beauty of the nature surrounding him. His interest for music and the traditional Nubian song let him learn to play the oud, and he was greatly influenced by the great Nubian singers of the time.

In the fifties, Seid Jamal formed the Nouba Adwaa Music and Arageed troupe. He collaborated with the Nubian radio stations in Southern Egypt and Northern Sudan, and held many concerts and achieved great success.

His tender voice and emotional songs touched the feelings of his admirers. Unfortunately, he could not fulfill his dream to return to Old Nubian lands and live there, as he died early after a long illness in 1979.
