Aboudi Samel is a charismatic young Nubian artist from the village of Abu Simbel in Nasser El Noba region - one of the villages where the inhabitants of the original villages of Abu Simbel were displaced before they were flooded by the artificial Lake Nasser formed by the construction of the Aswan High Dam. Born into an artistic environment, he was soon encouraged to sing with his poignant voice expressing his deep feelings and emotions - and his bright smile. He loved listening to poems and songs and singing since his early childhood.
Aboudi Samel's career as a singing artist started with the song "Endor Alwatashna" on a poem written and melody composed by the wonderful creative poet Ezz Eldin Abuzeid, followed by the song "Enga'n Sifalinna", written and composed for him by Hilmy Abuzeid, the great professor of the Nubian poesy and melody. Abboudi soon gained the favor of a broad public of admirers, and the "Sawt Al-Nuba" newspaper wrote an article about him.
Beside concerts Abboudi Samel gave at the famous Library of Alexandria, at the Freedom Center for Creativity and at the Jesuite Center, he also likes to sing in artistic gatherings with the great Nubian musicians and artists, as well as in wedding ceremonies. Aboudi Samel is a rising star of the traditional Nubian song, and we wish him a brilliant artistic career.
