Hisham Bata - هشام باطا
The Nubian Artist Hisham Bata is one of the great masters of Nubian Art. He was born into a family of famous artists in Abu Simbel, and was gifted both with inherited talent and with creativity inspired by the artists and musicians surrounding him. Hisham Bata loves to sing at artistic gatherings, together with other artists and with a devoted public.
This variety of styles and artistic expressions allowed him to start singing at a young age. Although he loves singing Nubian Heritage songs as well as his own songs - for which he often composed the melody, he developed a very unique style reviving the original Nubian tradition where everybody was singing together, led by the main Artist. He fully integrates and immerges his public into his songs, by letting them repeat his song part by part.
Hisham's closeness to his public, his charisma and his humor not only made his fame, but also brought him a large community of admirers, especially among young Nubians - who lovefully call him the "Sultan" of the Nubian song - that let him realize the Nubian's aim of motivating the young generation to learn their beautiful traditional Nubian language.
