Mamdouh Bakhit - ممدوح بخيت
Der großartige Dichter Mamdouh Bakhit Ali wurde im Dezember 1963 in Abu Simbel geboren. Er war erst zwei Monate alt, als er und seine Familie aus seinem Herkunftsdorf umgesiedelt wurden, das von dem hinter dem Assuan-Staudamm gebildeten Nasserstausee überflutet und versenkt werden sollte. Nach seinen eigenen Worten, wanderten sie vom "Paradies Gottes" in die "Hölle des Wadi Kom Ombo" versetzt.
Er schrieb sein erstes Lied zusammen mit einem Freund, während er in der Sekundarschule war. Seine Lehrer liebten Nubien und förderten die nubische Sprache. Als Sportdelegierter seiner Schule hatte Mamdouh Bakhit Kontakt zu Künstlern seines Dorfes und wurde von den großen Meistern des nubischen Liedes und der Poesie seiner Zeit, Abdallah Semel, Seid Jayer, und andere angezogen und beeinflusst. Im Alter von 17 Jahren ging er nach Kairo, um nach dem brillanten, bedauernden Dichter Hussein Jaser zu suchen, der sein geistiger Vater wurde .
Der "Dichter der Herzen" Mamdouh Bakhit, wie er liebevoll für seine tiefgreifenden Liebeslieder genannt wird, sorgt sich sehr um die Erhaltung der nubischen Sprache, und er kümmert sich darum, alte Wörter zu erforschen, um ihre Bedeutung am Leben zu erhalten, und er umschreibt Situationen mit nubischen Wörtern um die Anwendung von Arabischen Worten zu vermeiden, welche die Generationen der umgesiedelten Nubier stark durchdrungen haben. Wie die meisten nubischen Schriftsteller, Dichter und Sänger bemüht er sich, der jungen Generation Nubisch beizubringen und sie auf das nubische Erbe, Bräuche und Traditionen aufmerksam zu machen.
Mamdouh Bakhit schrieb die Texte für viele schöne Lieder, die durch die großen Komponisten berühmt wurden, welche seine Worte in wundervolle Melodien umhüllten - wie die brillanten Künstler, Musiker und KomponistenSeid Ibrahim Qurty und Majdi Bata, die seine Lieder auch kunstvoll singen und spielen, sowie Hisham Bata und Ahmed Himmet. Die bekanntesten anderen singenden Künstler, die seine Lieder aufführen, sind Adil Bata, Eid Suleiman, and Saber Kena, von Abu Simbel, und auch Ghazi Said, Assem Khitam, sowie junge Künstler wie die charismatischen Jiddo Seif, Ahmed Ismail, und Mohammed Yousef. Wie die meisten anderen Nubier wünscht der große Dichter Mamdouh Bachit zu den Ländern des Alten Nubien zurückzukehren, die am Ufer des Nassersees übrig geblieben sind.
